performances this week ? First of all the Leeds game,when they were refused
atleast one penalty when Radzinski was assulted and fouled constantly by one Leeds player after another but still no penalty was forthcoming !
These incidents where bad enough but the chest high tackle by Batty on Scott Gemmil was shocking to say the least and again the Leeds player was given a get out of jail card by the referee, this latest game against Leeds shows why noone likes them,they are a dirty rough and tumble outfit that show no mercy to opponents as they kick and foul them when things don't go their way! They even chanted abuse to their coach,Brian Kidd,as he is an ex-Man.United player,when they could find nothing else to winge about,they are a shameful lot,but I do not want to go on about a club that I have no time for and we should have beaten easily at Goodison.
I have listened and read various things about Walter Smith during
the past week. On Sunday I again listened to five live and the phone in after the game was one call after another calling for Walter Smith's head ! The performance against West Ham on Wednesday could not have done him any better,it was a shambles !!!
But what do you do ? Sack him !!! say some,he's had four years and
is taking us towards the Nationwide ! I say,wait let's not panic,we have a Cup match on Sunday v Boro and we need to get behind the manager and the team,this is when the club needs the fans to stick together .
Everyone including Walter will know that he is not used to this kind
of pressure,or at least he wasn't when he was up in Scotland with Rangers,he was only used to fighting head to head with Celtic for the Scottish Premier League title and he came out on top quite a few times,unfortunately !(I get the feeling Seans a Celtic man - Ed) Looking at Walter I can see that he feels the strain,the pressure and the cause for concern may not be the state of the club,but the health of our manager !
We have seen what has happened to managers over the road at
Liverpool because of the stress of the job and we don't want that to happen hear at Goodison,so let's get behind the manager,his pal at Old Trafford was going through the same thing at United and he had a good run in the FA cup and after that the rest as they say is history....
So let's see how the lads do on Sunday,I for one hope that Walter
gets the luck that he deserves at Everton on Sunday and the Blues go on to lift the Cup maybe then the doubters will give Walter a break ! The only other Everton news that I have heard is that after the club's brawl at Craven
Cottege,they have been fined £25,000 we could have done with that
money for Gazza and David's wages for next season! The constant rumours about Gazza's future are getting a bit much,from the middle east to America to Burnley it's neverending !!!
The only two players that I have heard the club rumoured to be
interested in are Lisbie from Charlton and a German has been linked also believed to be Jorg Albertz another of Walter's old ex-players at Ibrox.
It's a big weekend for Walter and the lads so get behind the team
and maybe the luck will be with us on Sunday for a change and instead of Walter looking to the heavens for help maybe someone will smile down on him for a change...he and Archie could always go into St Luke's for a prayer before the game !
