Captain Marvelous....

Well the boss is over at the World Cup enjoying himself and running the rule over some targets that may be Goodison Park one of which may be Chinese player of the year Li Tie. The club have confirmed that they are interested in the 24 year old who has played for his country 60 times.

The club will be linked with all sorts of names throughout the World
Cup and indeed the summer but it will be a case of wait and see before anything happens. One Everton player who has made his mark already in the World Cup is Niclas Alexandersson who equalised for his country in the match against England. Nick seems to be enjoying his World Cup experience let's hope he brings home his good form and shooting boots for next season. One player who seems to be leaving then staying then leaving again is Alex Nyarko. Every time that you pick up a paper someone seems to be interested in Alex then the interest is dropped. This is clearly a frustrating time for Alex and the club I just wish that this would get sorted out once and for all. Alex said that he would not play for the club again after an irate fan confronted him at Highbury. While everyone was enjoying the World Cup last weekend, I was having a hectic time playing football but not winning! And having a break in Blackpool rainy Blackpool!
But it was good to get away and my daughter Catherine enjoyed herself as did I, especially when finding an Everton greatest victories over Liverpool video.... an hour of pure Blue bliss, of the football kind I may add!
More news from the World Cup now, the latest results and matches have just finished and it's good news for England and Sweden. First of all the Swedes won 2-1 thanks to two goals from Celtic superstar and top man Henrik Larson. Both Nicklas and Tobias played and played well in my opinion, the Swedes are looking good now to qualify for the second phase, good on them I hope they do!

Now to the big one and I'm not talking about this mixed tourney at Firhill tonight! England finally laid the ghost of Argentina to rest, as a single goal from Captain Marvel David Beckham was enough to see the English get the points in a very good match. I was pleased to see Beck's get the goal especially after what he had to go through both professional and personal abuse of himself and his family after being sent off the last time the teams met in the World Cup, good on you Beck's you even had Dani Behr excited and jumping for joy in Jockland!

The World Cup has been good so far and I am enjoying it but I would enjoy it even more if the games were at a reasonable hour instead of me having to live on only a few hours sleep then go into work early, it's just not on!
It has been good to see the Irish doing so well after being written off so many times. They must have been able to hear the roar from Scotland as my workmates and I cheered as Robbie Keane's goal hit the net, good on you lads! Now David what about a look at some of those guys could any of them be wearing a Blue shirt next season ?
