Comment: Blues on the up.

The New Kids On The Block once had a song called the "The Right Stuff ". I think this applies to Everton this season. From the goalkeeper right through to the centre forwards the team are playing the right stuff.
Results like the ones at Leeds and mid-week in the Cup at Newcastle have proved that the team are moving in the right direction with the right man in charge. Normally if Everton were drawn away at Newcastle in any Cup competition that would mean the exit door for us, but not anymore. Even when 2-1 then 3-2 down this team still did not give up and that is one of the big differences at Everton this season. Credit to all the players for sticking in there when it mattered most and especially Richard Wright, what a way to celebrate your birthday saving 2 penalties and getting the team through to the next round of the Cup and guess what it's another away match and it is live on Sky. It's Chelsea on the 4th December it should be another cracker and hopefully another win!

After that great performance against Newcastle it was back home for another league match this time v Charlton. I was delighted to see Mr Radzinski score the winner he has played out of his skin for Everton this season and deserves a goal or two for all his hard work. It was also great to see Gravesen and Yobo had a good game too, I think that this Everton team have the right balance and we need our big players doing the stuff for us and we can't complain so far can we? Up to Fourth in the League now and talk of Europe well yes it would be great wouldn't it, Everton deserve to take their place back at Europe's top table it has been far too long coming; but let's take it one match at a time a see what happens after Christmas.

Well I am really surprised, this far into the column and I haven't mentioned the W word yet! Well I have to now. Young Wayne is everywhere and seems to be getting more admirers every time I open a paper or switch on a TV set. Here's the Rooney update so far this week.......He has got the tills ringing in the Everton store as fans just can't get enough of the man, Wins the Premiership's goal of the month for his goal v Arsenal, gets a mention on the Frank Skinner show as Liz from Atomic Kitten is on-Frank says they could be the new Posh and Becks, Aberdeen's goalkeeping legend Jim Leighton writes about him in the Press and Journal, Robbie Williams pays respect to him on the club website, the Great George Best says he has no fear, he would be the first name on my team sheet every week, and to top all that he gets a call up to the England under 21's along with Tony Hibbert and Peter Clarke at the moment the world just can't get enough of Wayne Rooney!

On Thursday the Battle Of Britain part two takes place and I will be there cheering on one team and spying on another! Lets hope that Celtic go through and take up all Blackburn's strength for our match against them it will be hard! And I might have to buy my Dad a drink depending on the score! Just two quick things before I sign off 1 Children in need night on Friday and last Friday we played our Charity Shield, unfortunately I couldn't quite do a Richard Wright as we lost in the final on penalties! I did have the consolation of a kiss or two from the STV girls Sarah Heaney and Jane Lewis....just lucky Tracey wasn't there. Happy Birthday to my uncle Tommy as it is his Birthday on Thursday-have a good day and hope your team win. All the best to my uncle Mick too fingers crossed that everything is ok! Come On you Blues!
