No Arsene about we're playing the Champions !

Well we've finally reached the last game of the season and what a season we've had. From the dizzy heights of the top of the Premiership to near disaster at the bottom, flirting with the drop zone so much so that Walter Smith lost his job and was replaced by David Moyes, just a normal season at Goodison really!
Although the season has been disappointing at the end of the day we are still in the top division and that has to be one of the pluses of the season.

After the excitement of last weekend's Cup Final's North and South of the border, that has seen Rangers and Arsenal lift doubles this season we come back to the bread and butter of the last day of the Premiership and an easy away day in London to face the Champions Arsenal!

The Gunners have deserved the title this season as they have hung in there as others have faltered so they have had the resolve to pip United and Liverpool to the top prize, Congratulations to Arsene Wenger and his men they have another double, well done now prepare for your first defeat as Champions! T
The last time Everton went there when Arsenal won the League they where hammered 4-0,hopefully the Gunners are still drunk from their title celebrations and Everton get a decent result at Highbury.

On the other news front as expected, the boss has not signed anyone as yet, no surprise really, still it doesn't stop the rumors doing the rounds but none of which have any foundations.

One ex Everton player now at Rangers, Michael Ball has slammed the club for being just a selling club and not giving the Manager enough money to spend on bringing players in the close season, the amount of money being branded around is £5 million! Not enough is it when you consider Man City will spend that on one player!

I believe that David Moyes can bring success to this club but he will need the backing of the board with good hard cash and I think that Bill Kenwright and the rest of the board will back their man to the hilt.

One player who is waiting on a contract is Jesper Blomqvist. I hope that Jesper does get a new contract as he looks to be a player that we could do with for next season. We need a bigger and better squad for next season and with Jesper's disappointment at not getting to the World Cup I think he will be eager and keen for next season.

The Everton youth team, the players that are the future of this club, are to strut their stuff live on Sky this Tuesday and the following Saturday so get behind these guys as some of these names may go on to bigger and better things with the first team squad soon! No doubt Tommy and Andy that I met at Falkirk will be at both legs as they are, as the site says Everton Mad, and know anything and everything there is to know about Everton, these guys are Everton through and through and have seen the good and bad times at Everton and I hope the club win a trophy for them soon as well as the rest of the fans.

One quick mention before I sign off ex Everton player John Connolly has lead his team Queen of the South to the second division title well done to him and his team and one family of fans in particular who have been following their club for years without seeing much success, enjoy your glory you deserve it.
This weekend I am off to Portpatrick with the in-laws for a wee break, hopefully I will arrive in time for the match against Arsenal and a wee pint or two to help me enjoy or drown my sorrows. I will have my batteries recharged for my last article of the season next week.
