Sean Grahams Derby Preview

Ferguson may start for Everton
Everton go into this Saturday's 200th Merseyside derby in fine fettle, an away draw with Newcastle 1-1 Lee Carsley scoring a superb free kick, and a home win over big Sam's Bolton 3-2 again coming from behind keeps the Blue's in third place going into this weekend's big match at Goodison.
Make no mistake this is the big test for Everton this weekend. Amatch against our old rivals is never easy no matter what position the Blues or Reds are in and don't you think that it is about time that the Blues got one over our Red neighbours from across Stanley Park?
Nothing would please me more this weekend, Not even a win on the lottery or the pools,I would just love to see David Moyes his team get all three points to keep the club on course for the European place that this club craves and after everything it has been through over the past ten years the support deserve.

You may think that I am being a bit obsessive in wanting Everton to win this Saturday (err, no - Ed) but I think it is reasonable to want your club to win every match and especially as we are doing so well this season.
I know that it will be a difficult match, With Liverpool getting a great result against Olympiacos winning 3-1 thus staying in the Champions League, congratulations to Rafa and his men for the result and to all English teams.
(Editors note, that opinion of Sean's is his own, don't shout at me).

All four who now look forward to the draw on December 17th.Going back to the Liverpool result did anyone hear Andy Gray's shouting as Steven Gerrard's shot hit the back of the net ? The joy was unbelieveable, did Andy forget that he was a blue or did he have money on 3-1 Liverpool.

Knowing that Liverpool are still in Europe's Premier trophy is even more of an incentive to put one over on our old rivals, they may be in amongst the cream of Europe but will they be able to live with the battlers who have the never say die attitude at Goodison ?

At the time of writing I do not know if Everton have the money that has been promised to them from the Fortress Sports Fund but what I do know is that they have a 14 day extension to hopefully deliver the goods (and perhaps even the cash)...maybe it will come in time for Christmas !

News from the AGM,despite the club been drawn to the attention that Simon Davies is available To move from Spurs, Everton have said that they will not be bidding for him! January is only a matter of weeks away so lets all wait and see what money Moysie gets and if he decides to spend any of it!
Everton officials will meet with the City Council to discuss the possibility of further development of Goodison Park, more as we get it.
Appointments in Scotland over the past few days ex Everton favourite's Richard Gough and Archie Knox have taken over at Livingston and have already won their first match 1-0 over Dundee. And surprise, surprise Walter Smith has taken over as Scotland Manager.

I am sure all Evertonians will join with me in wishing all three the very best in their new jobs.
One bit of sad news before I sign off,I would just like to send my deepest sympathies To everyone at Aberdeen Football Club and all the friends and family of the former Dons player Hicham Zerouali who was tragically killed in a car crash at the weekend. Hicham was a very popular figure with Aberdeen fans and always entertained the paying public and played football with a smile on his face,he will be sadly missed by fans Of all clubs in Scotland.
The club will hold a memorial service on Sunday 19th December.
