Some Christmas Cheer

Last updated : 12 December 2003 By Sean Graham
After the recent highs! A victory over Wolves, and all the lows that have came after And there have been plenty of them, losing to Bolton , going out of the Carling Cup On penalties to Boro, the recent rumblings over the futures of both David Moyes and Wayne Rooney, the Russian trailist that came and went, a 0-0 draw with Man City that Takes us to 4th bottom all this and Chris going out of Pop Idol, it has all been a bit Too much to take for me recently ! I can't find any real enthusiasm at the moment So maybe if the club gave us a long over due away win or maybe a goal at Portsmouth then maybe I will cheer up. "BaHumbug" you moaning faced Scots git, I hear you all cry (Yes! - ed). But I am afraid it is true, I can't honestly find anything to cheer you up this week.

I have read all the papers and seen all the highlights and substitutions over the Past few weeks and seen this supposed rift between David Moyes and Wayne Rooney Has seemed just because the Manager has seen fit to take Wayne off because he thinks The youngster is either not playing well or getting far too much exposure, in the end He is the Manager and he has the right to do such a thing and the supporters should Back him up. At the moment Everton do not have many players who would walk into another Premiership team, but maybe Wayne Rooney is the exception!? But what we have to remember is that David Moyes is in charge and he is only doing what is best for the club and young Wayne, even though he might not think that some of the time. Moysie could do one of three things 1) Do as he is doing at the moment playing Wayne from the start then taking him off for A rest or if he is not performing too well 2) Think to himself, Bill lets just sell Wayne if we can get £35 Million or so for him And rebuild the club from the start getting decent players in 3) Put him back in the reserves for a wee while just to let all the hype die down I am sure that David Moyes knows what he is doing and Bill Kenwright trusts him and so do I.

We need a win on Saturday v Portsmouth, it is a must. But we also must back the Manager To the hilt and he will lead us back out of this mess. We start our trail to FA Cup glory at home to Norwich lets hope that we are still in this Competition when May comes round.
