The honeymoon is over !

They led through a goal from Captain Duncan Ferguson but the Toon Army came storming back in tremendous fashion and gave the blues a Good Friday to forget, maybe they had been on the easter eggs a couple of days early !

A SIX goal drubbing by Newcastle now I know how those Rangers fans felt when Celtic handed them out the same treatment ! I was watching the game when I finished work,(we took our dinner hour late ! ) with Stevie and John,I should have known when Stevie said "I have seen six Magpies this morning " that we would not win.Wee John said that Everton are playing like a first division team !! after that performance I could not disagree !

The First time that Everton had conceeded six goals in the Premiership, with this defence playing like this I would give the crowd a free blindfold with the match programme on Monday before the Bolton match, this is our Cup Final now,the most important match of the season,God help us if we lose that one !!! I agree with David Moyes that the club should not have been playing so soon after the International matches.I watched Scotland being given a battering and lesson in Football from the French Masters on Wednesday and David Weir in particular took some heavy knocks and has a bruised face, after the way he was run into the ground on Wednesday he should not have been asked to play in a match so crucial to his club. The club has decided not to buy anymore players before the transfer deadline, although they did enquire about Jason Koumas from Tranmere about the possiblity of a loan deal but that did not happen.

The other news from sunny but cold Scotland is,the date for the Falkirk v Everton match has been set for Tuesday 30th April. The match has been set up to mark the 125th anniversary of the club.(More details to follow...kick-off,prices and how to get there ! ) The other big news is the two clubs in the Scottish Cup Final this season will be .. Ayr United and Partick Thistle....I know that it's not April fools day yet but that was funny ! It will be an Old Firm final at Hampden on May 4th.Both clubs eased pass their first division opponents 3-0.Although credit must go to Ayr,my mate Jeff and I saw the first division boys make Celtic sweat before being beaten by two cracking Alan Thompson goals saw off the first division side.

I hope that the rest of the weekend is better than Friday.I am full of the cold and I have just had to witness the worst Everton result that I have ever seen !This was supposed to be a weekend full of celebrations with easter eggs all over the land (and house ) for kids every where and also yours truely getting another year older and able to have a drink for the first time in six weeks,I wish I could have one now to wipe out the result ! I can only hope that the next time that I write I will be a year older, wiser, healthier and Everton will give me a belated win for my birthday ! Have a Happy Easter Everyone !
