You may have heard the news by now that Graham McKenna was fatally stabbed, and his 14-year-old son Michael critically wounded, as they walked to catch a bus to the Hull game on Saturday.

Police are describing the stabbing as a 'domestic' incident after Graham and his son were stabbed in broad daylight in Claughton Village in Birkenhead.

I've known Graham for a number of years after playing football with him for Civic Way in the Birkenhead Sunday league and often saw him around County Road on matchdays as he'd drink in the Pacific along with a lot of the lads who travel to the match on the Houlihan's bus that runs from
Claughton Village.

He genuinely was a cracking fella and a great Evertonian and he will be missed by everyone that knew him.

It is a truly shocking and tragic event and my thoughts are with his family at this time and we can all only pray that his son pulls through.

And we can only hope that the scumbag - and that's too light a term to use - that cut short his life is brought to justice, one way or another, as soon as possible!
