Fulham v Everton

Last updated : 03 November 2006 By Les Roberts

For some reason, our record at Fulham is abysmal as we have not won a

single Premiership match down there.

In fact, we've not even taken a point from them as they have beaten us

in each of the five seasons they have been back in the top flight.

But their record at Goodison is just as bad as we have beaten them in

every Premiership match they have played at our place.

The most memorable of which must be David Moyes' first game in charge

when, having scored just four goals in our previous 12 matches, David

Unsworth netted at the Park End after about 30 seconds!

But, as good as we are at home against them, it's a bit of a mystery why

we're so bad when we play them away.

In total, we've played them 23 times away from home and have won just

three, drawn five and lost 13.

It can't really be down to the atmosphere at the ground as it's hardly a

bear-pit and the Fulham fans are probably amongst the nicest you'll ever

meet.

One time when I was down there a few of us got a bit lost walking out of

the ground and into the park and, without asking for directions, a Fulham fan stopped us and told us the way to the train station.

And he did actually send us the right way...c
an't see that happening in Stanley Park!

It can't even be down to them having a far better team than us either as

they've finished above us in just two of the five seasons they've been

in the Premiership.

And it can't even be that it's ‘just one of those grounds' as we

couldn't beat them during the two season's they were at Loftus Road…although that's never been a great away day for us either!

Last season they won it thanks to a 57th minute goal from Brian McBride,

a player who no-one really thought was that great when he was at

Goodison but used him as a stick to beat Moyes with when he netted a

couple early on in his Fulham career.

Let's Roll!!!

But, hopefully, there will be no repeat of that tomorrow and we can

break our duck down there, just as we have already done against Arsenal

and Tottenham this season.

As far as team news goes, there probably won't be any changes from the

team that drew with Arsenal last week as everyone appears to have

recovered from the virus that has blighted Bellefield.

Nuno Valente has returned to training this week and so may take his

place on the left but Everton's cursed full back position has struck

again as Paddy Boyle will be out for the rest of the year with a stress

fracture to his back!

The half time entertainment at Fulham can be a bit risque!

As For Fulham, the only news on them is that Chris Coleman has apparently challenged Tomasz Radzinski and Claus Jensen to fight for new deals.

So expect to see them going toe-to-toe in the centre circle at half time

tomorrow!

Allez les Blues!
