Game On

And, just as in the successful 2004/05 campaign we've been pitted against Arsenal on the opening day of the season.

The Blues will entertain the Gunners at Goodison on Saturday 15th August - weirdly, the opening match of the 2004/05 season was also Saturday 15th August and we all know what happend that day!

We then travel to Man City the following Wednesday, potentially to face half of the team that got to the FA Cup final if the papers are to be believed.

Then it's a trip to Turf Moor to face newly promoted Burnley as the season gets off to it's usual frantic three-games-in-a-week start.

Our first match against that lot isn't until Saturday 28th November when we are due to play them at Goodison...but if that game is played at three o'clock on the Saturday I'll show my arse in the club shop window!

We then travel to the tin mine on Saturday 6th February.

Our annual defeat at Old Trafford comes on Saturday 21st November, a week before the Goodison derby, and the traditional 'i'd take a draw' match at home to Man United is on Saturday 20th Februray.

The festive fixtures see us travel to Sunderland on Boxing Day and take on Burnley at Goodison on Monday 28th December.

There's no New Years' Day game pencilled in as this must be FA Cup third round weekend.

The season will end at Goodison Park on Sunday 9th May when we face Portsmouth, a game with 'damp squib' written all over it...unless we lift the title that day or something!

And that concludes the draw for the 2009/10 season, if you want a full list of fixtures they'll be on the official site if the thing's working!
