Everton are currently owed £500,000 by Perugia for the sale of Marco Matterazzi, and Everton have become so exasperated with trying to get the struggling club to pay that they have reported the matter to FIFA.

"It is now in the hands of the Italian solicitors and FIFA," said Everton Chief Executive Michael Dunford yesterday. "We hope it will be resolved to our satisfaction by the end of the season."

Manchester United are suffering more however, they are still owed millions of pounds by Lazio for Jaap Stam.
