Liverpool Vision, the group in chagre of the project will consider Everton's response next week. Basically Everton have to raise £30m for a 50% stake in the project. The club have thus far failed to do this, and have only 18 months to find the cash.

There is an alternative scheme, proposed by Multi-Millionaire Paul Gregg. Gregg, who has a large stake in Everton, is proposing that himself and several other individuals invest in the stadium in place of the club. However, this plan has run into much opposition, as it would mean that the club would not benefit from a 50% revenue share in the venture, which will also be used as as concert and conferance venue.

One has to remember exactly why Everton are moving. It was, and always has been, a business decision, having the new ground would bring the club much needed revenue which could be invested in the team. If this is not going to be the case, it seems hard to justify a move to a new stadium that the club would not own simply for the sake of it.
