Everton move for Butt

The odds of this one coming off are by no means "good", butt is much more likely to go for old team mate Steve Bruce at Birmingham or old coach Steve Mclaren at Middlesborough. However, Everton do have the advantage of geography. Butt would not have to move house ect to play for us, which may prove significant.

"We have made an enquiry about Nicky. I'm always on the lookout for good players," said Moyes. "Hopefully he'll want to come to Everton but I'm not sure whether it will happen this month."

What this does show is that when the club say they have 'no money' what they mean is that they don't have anyone to spend it on.
