Everton plunge deeper into turmoil

"For some time it had been my intention to leave the board of Everton Football Club at the end of the 2003-04 season," he said "Due to various circumstances and at the request of colleagues my resignation was postponed until last week."

Let me allow you into a little secret. For a club (and company) the size of Everton to have a board of less than 4 is completely unforgivable, any businessman with a brain can tell you that. A borad of directors is supposed to contain experts on each aspect of the business so ideas can be gathered & problems spotted, it shouldn't be a "Bill's Mates Club".

Bill Kenwright has a lot to answer for here. I know Paul Gregg is seen as the bad guy by many fans, but Bill Kenwright is club chairman, he runs the show, and it is his responsability to run it properly, and this clearly is not happening.

Lets face facts here. Everton need money, fast. If we don't get a cash injection soon we are likely to go the same way as Leeds. So we either a) go with Paul Gregg's idea of a buyout or further investment or b) sell Wayne Rooney. There are no other options, and Bill Kenwright's strategy at the moment seems to be to do nothing.

What has he been doing for the last year? What new commercial ideas have there been? Which new investors have been attracted? We appear to have achieved nothing in 12 months. If I were David Moyes I wouldn't be mad at Trevor Birch, i'd be banging Bill Kenwright's door down asking what the hell is going on around here.

And there is another thing. Why bring in a financial expert and the not listen to what he has to say? It makes no sense.

Rant over, sort it out Bill, now.
