Everton set to close deal for Van der Meyde

Everton were last night sealing a deal to bring the player to Goodison, a year after he was first identified as a transfer target by David Moyes.

Everton boss David Moyes said: "Van der Meyde is coming in for a medical and we will see how it goes. Hopefully the clubs can agree a fee."

The player has also been linked with Newcastle and Spurs.
