Everton sign Spanish star Arteta

The former Rangers player will initially join on loan until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move for £3m.

Chief executive Keith Wyness told the Everton website: "This is a real coup as a number of clubs were interested."

Arteta never made much on an impact at Rangers despite a £6m transfer fee, and Everton are obviously hoping that he can adapt to life in the Premiership quickly, perhaps filling the gap left by Thomas Gravesen.
