Everton waiting until January to spend Rooney cash

The Liverpool Echo website has an interesting article talking about how Moyes was keen not to repeat last season's deadline day rush for players. He will now bide his time until January.

This makes sense in the context of the goos results we have had so far, but makes very little sense when you consider how thin our squad is. One or two bad injuries and we are sunk.

However, if this is the plan, we could have some fun in January. The best case senario is that Everton have the £20m from Rooney (yes, i know they won't actually have the 2nd £10m by then but its a business cash flow, so thats not really too important), plus the supposed £20m from the Russian investment. Hopefully this will give Moyes anything up to around £20m to spend on players, which will be a huge boost to his squad.

It still seems amazing to me that they didn't sign a replacement for Rooney, I just hope to hell that they know what they are doing, and this isn't another example of Bill Kenwright's random decision making (£7m for Alan Smith anyone?)
