Gemmill wants to stay

The Scottish international has been linked with a loan move to Stoke, but he has insisted that he wants to stay with the blues and fight for his place.

Gemmill said: "I certainly don't want to go. I want to play for Everton. If it's up to me, I won't be going anywhere. I'm glad the manager has rubbished the reports and until he tells me that he wants me to go then I won¿t even consider leaving.

"There's plenty of competition for a central midfield spot. It wouldn't be unfair to say that I lost my place due to injury, but that's the way football goes and the players who have come in have done well. I'm just going to have to be patient to get my chance."

There has been talk recently amongst fans that we should get rid of a few players like Gemmill when the transfer window opens, needless to say this is not an idea the club are in favour of, and rightly so, we need good cover for a good first team.
