Howard's stay

Which is great news!

Everton have paid Man United and undisclosed fee to secure the 'keeper on a permanent basis.

And, as he was on loan with us, the move is within Premier League rules despite the fact that the transfer window is now closed.

Both parties are obviously cock, and indeed, a hoop about the move being made permanent as we finally a 'keeper that genuinely looks like he could be in our nets for the next 10-15 years and Howard gets to be number one!

Well he will do if Richard Wright ever decides to leave!

David Moyes said of the transfer: "He [Howard] has come in this season and proved he is a good keeper and we are pleased to have secured him."

Which doesn't sound like a thoroughly ringing endorsement but then when does Moyes ever overstate anyone's case?

After clearly being asked whether he seriously thinks he has any chance of winning anything ever again, Howard was quick to nail his colours to his new club's mast.

He said: "The club share my ambition, that is for sure - the manager does and so do the fans."

Howard then added, somewhat strangely:"I was drawn to the club for a number of reasons and the players in the dressing room are one of them."

Which either means Andy van der Meyde's tales of debauched nights in The Three Stags are hugely entertaining or the club hand out free tabs to be smoked in the changies.

Or maybe even both!

In other team related news, the squad have flown out to Spain for a few days training ahead of the Tottenham game next week.

Now I may be being a little too cynical here but does that not seem like they are being rewarded for being utter shite against Blackburn in the cup and falling at the first hurdle?

Footballers...spoilt bastards the lot of them!
