It never rains…

The South African midfielder limped out of Saturday's 1-1 draw with PSV Eindhoven and reports from the club are suggesting that he could be missing for up to six weeks with a suspected fractured foot.

So we wait to see which metatarsal has been goosed in a pre-season friendly this time around.

And it remains to be seen whether Pienaar will go for an attempt at Tim Cahill's record of number of broken feet in a season.

Cahill was that unlucky that his record for last season stood at three…and he's only got two feet!

Our midfield options have already been alarmingly short this summer and the youngsters have been figuring in more friendlies than Moyes would've wanted.

And there's still no further news on any of the 'imminent' deals for the quartet of players we're being linked with.

In fact the only news involving any of our transfer targets is that Vagner Love was not at Goodison last night for a medical…but the club remain hopeful of sorting out a season-long loan deal with CSKA.

Which sounds like they're still no further on with their negotiations!

The only other bit of transfer news comes in the form of a spurious rumour that Roy Keane is ready to table a bid for Leighton Baines.

Can you even imagine Everton considering letting another player leave the club?!

Yep, me too!
