League insist on Goodison trophy celebration

Everton have claimed that there are safety concerns surrounding the issue, mainly involveing the potential number of ticketless United fans who would try to gain entry to the match in order to see the Champions crowned for the eigth time.

Richard Scudamore, Premier League Chief Executive said "We have obligations to our sponsors and to our television partners to which Everton put their name. There is no question. The trophy will be presented at Everton at some stage on Sunday afternoon. I do not believe there is a safety issue. I am quite certain that the whole occasion can be safely policed."
