Iain Turner played his first game on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and, despite letting in two goals, got his first win bonus with the Owls as they beat Southend 3-2.

After keeping a clean sheet last week, John Ruddy had to pick the ball out of the net three times yesterday as Wrexham were on the end of a 3-1 reverse at home to Shrewsbury.

Bjarni Vidarsson netted his first goal for Bournemouth as they secured a vital 2-1 win over promotion chasing Oldham.

Vidarsson's goal turned out to be the decisive strike in a win that keeps Bournemouth in with a chance of climbing out of League One's relegation zone.

And Everton's young Irish midfielder, Alan Kierney, was in action for Chester
as they lost 0-1 at Swindon.
