Moyes gets his transfer changes

Under the current system, all transfer fees (except those which depend on performances etc) must be paid within 12 months. In most other EU countries clubs can pay the money off over the length of a players contract, for example at £1m per year for a £5m player on a 5 year contract.

David Moyes has been the leading advocate of changing the British system to be like the one in the rest of europe, and late last week the FA decided to make the amendments.

However, Everton chief executive Micheal Dunford has warned that we son't see the benifit immediatly. He said: "It's going to take 12 months before we can tell if it's caused a different trend, if indeed there is going to be one.

"We're not all of a sudden going to go out and spend £10m on players over extended payment terms. That's not what this is all about.

"All clubs will still have to work within the framework of their cash flow provisions and we will continue to do that.

"It's simply a flexibility and a facility that we haven't been able to enjoy since the Premiership was formed."
