Moyes urges caution for Rooney

This is a sensible line for the boss to take, we all know what has happened to Steven Gerrad after he was played too much early on. There is also something of an Alex Ferguson mentality here as well, if a player is doing a job well (i.e. coming off the bench to turn games), then why change the tactic.

Moyes said: "Wayne definitely gave us a lift [in the game against Middlesborough], he gave everybody a lift. I thought his energy and his passion for this football club was shown in the game

"He just has to settle down and realise he is not Roy of the Rovers and he can't go out there and win all the games on his own, but some day he might be capable of doing just that."

So in teh mean time i think making apperances from the bench is the best bet for Mr Rooney, and hopefully both himself and th fans will support this, for the sake of the kid's future.
