Moyes told Everton's official website: "We have a lot of players who have worked really hard and they will be given the nod ahead of Alex because he has only just returned. He wasn't keen to stay at the club when he went out on loan two years ago but he is back now and we are giving him every chance to prove himself.
"But as a player, we know very little about him."
