Poor defending to blame says Moyes

David Moyes has singled out defensive errors as our biggest weakness. Genius. Alan Stubbs was clearly at fault for Villa's second goal, following the ball like a schoolboy, rather than watching his man.

"They showed a lot of character to come back from 2-0 down but that is when they needed to show me they were mentally tough as well and to say right we have done the job, if we get a third great, but you are away from home so let's make sure we do the job right. Make sure we defend correctly, don't make mistakes now and hopefully what happens is you get a third goal." Said David Moyes.

"I have to admit I felt worse after the Southampton game because we really should have won that but we defended badly and I suppose if you do that you can't have too many complaints if you don't win. With 20 minutes to go, and the scores level, I felt we played our worse football which in turn led to the pressure and led to the goal."

"We felt at 2-2 we were the only team likely to win the game and we didn't change anything, but for 10 minutes after scoring the second goal we continuously gave the ball away, and you can't do that at this level and not expect to get punished."
