Rooney set for England start

It had been reported that heskey would play after recovering from a knee injury, but it looks like Eriksoon may be about to spring a surprise, after a recent newspaper poll showed that 83% of people thought Rooney should start the game.

"I will never think of public opinion when picking my team. I have to be convinced that it is the right thing, whether it is naming a squad or a side." Said Eriksson

"If I am convinced I do it. But I couldn't listen to public opinion before making my decision. Let's wait until Wednesday night to find out whether I am in that 83% or part of the 17% who disagree."
