Simonsen said: "People think I have been around for ten years or more but I am still only 24 and there is a lot of time left to go in my career.
"I'd like to be able to continue my career here at Everton but that is up to me.
"I am in the last year of my contract and I have to prove to the manager and the coaching staff through hard work that I deserve a new deal."
Simonsen is currently third in the keeper pecking order behind Wright and Martyn (of course the former is currently injured) but Iain Turner is only 18 and is hot on his heals. If i were him i'd be looking for pastures new, and a Premiership club where he can show everyone the talents he no doubt has.
