Southampton players defend dubious win.

However, Saint's midfielder Chris Marsden (him of the shiny head) has been bleating on about how they really did deserve to beat us. Marsden said "You have to be big enough to take them when they go against you and accept them accept them when they go your way".

However, he then goes on to more or less admit that we should have won and that it was a dodgy decision by Steve Bennett (referee, breaker of Evertonian hearts).

"We didn't play well and Everton were the better side on the night. " Continued Marsden "If it wasn't for a string of great saves from Paul Jones we would probably have lost. "

"But things even themselves up in football (that I do agree with - ed) and we deserved that bit of luck we had. We lost to a dodgy last minute penalty ourselves at Spurs and certainly didn't deserve that, and we probably deserved to beat Chelsea.

"So we'll grab that bit of luck to make up for what we didn't have in those games."

Luck hey. Bastards. (It should be noted that the editor is expected to stop being so grumpy in a day or so).
