Treatment table

First off the table is Tony Hibbert who could be in contention for the game against West Ham at the weekend.

The full-back has been sidelined with a mystery neck injury and has missed the last two games.

Everton physio said of the injury: "Tony just appeared one day with a really, really sore neck. That was eleven days ago now and I must say it's not getting better too quickly, so he's making really slow progress.

He added: "He's [Hibbert] not training at the moment. But the thing about necks is they do resolve quite quickly and spontaneously, so we're kind of hoping he's going to come in everyday lots better, but at the moment he's doing okay. He's certainly not ruled out of Saturday's game, but he's making slow progress."

Rumour has is that Hibbert sustained the neck injury after Leighton Baines baggsied being Jake 'The Snake' Roberts in a re-enactment of the 1991 Survivor Series match and DDTed Hibbert who had foolishly opted to play the part of Rick 'The Model' Martell.

The stories that Jospeh Yobo pocketed 20 quid on the outcome of the grapple are thought to be way wide of the mark.

In other injury news, Phil Jagielka's knee is coming along nicely and Nuno Valente could also be back in action before the end of the season.

Got a cup final coming up have we?!

The big-faced Portuguese defender underwent surgery on a knee injury in October - no, I don't remember either - and Everton's medical team hope to have him fit for the rest of the season…so he will have earned his money there then!

And he didn't look at all injured when I saw him mincing around the fresh meat aisles in Costco the other week.

As is nearly always the case when you see a footballer 'out and about' I first clocked a pristinely groomed blonde lady knocking about and then saw her footballing other half not that far behind her.

And that Nuno, he really got a big face!
