Vic tit lip

The alleged cause of the big Nigerians ire is the fact that even after bringing another striker, Jo, in on loan for the remainder of the season, Moyes still put the brakes on a similar deal that would have seen Anichebe turning out for Hull for the rest of the campaign.

Moyes wants the young striker to stay and fight for his place, which is fair enough as, even with Jo now brought in, Everton still only have two fully fit recognized strikers on the books.

But the thought of staying and proving himself in the first team appears to be a step too far for Anichebe who turned up for training yesterday but refused to get changed and train.

This led to a confrontation with Moyes that resulted in Anichebe being escorted from Finch Farm by two of the club's physios…who were, presumably, both sporting skin heads, black bomber jackets and a bluetooth hands free in their ears.

This is exactly what the club doesn't need, especially on the eve of the derby, and at a time in the season when we really need everyone in it together to keep our good run going.

And this 'hard done by' attitude has been a criticism of Anichebe for a long time now and some of his displays when coming off the bench have been laboured to say the least.

Compare his powerful display in the first Anfield derby this season to his late, lacklustre appearance against Arsenal when his failure to close players down was as much a factor in Arsenal's equalizer as Pienaar's misplaced pass and van Persie's excellent finish.

If the stories are true then Anichebe really had better get his head together else he'll be out of Goodison as soon as the season is over…and if he thinks he'll get a move to a club that is anywhere near Everton's stature or quality then he can add delusional to his list of character flaws!
