What a crock!

The Blues boss has admitted that he is concerned that the squad may just not be big enough to sustain our push for Eurpoean qualification.

Which, on the face of it, may sound a bit defeatist, but, when you consider that many thought our season was over as soon as Tim Cahill did his foot in at Sheffield United, we've not done too badly to be in the position we're in.

In fact Cahill's injury was a bit of a blessing in disguise as it opened the door for James Vaughan and a playing formation that wasn't 4-5-1.

In addition to Cahill, we're currently without Victor Anichebe, Manuel Fernandes and James Vaughan.

Tony Hibbert has only recently returned from a long lay-off and James McFadden hasn't played for the first team since breaking his foot.

And if you add our continually crocked left backs to the list, then the full extent of the injuries we've had to put up with this season is quite alarming.

On the plus side, Manuel Fernandes did take part in an open training session earlier today and Victor Anichebe is battling to be fit for the visit of Charlton on Sunday.

But the situation is still so bad that Moyes is even rumoured to be considering Andy van der Meyde for a return to the first team.

Get the kids on!!!
