Wife on Lars

A move which has today been made permanent, hence I've been forced to write the next hundred or so words.

Whilst it's not the most mouth-watering signing in a summer that has promised Moutinho, Milito, M'Bia and er...Smith, it's to be hoped that Jacobsen will add a much needed bit of international class to the troublesome right-back spot.

Quite where this leaves Phil Neville is anybody's guess but, seeing as it's all gone quiet on the Stephane M'Bia front since he actually came out and said he wants to move to Everton - cue more collar loosening and shifty looks from the board - it looks like friendly Phil is to be our new midfield general...

....

Back to Lars 'The La' Jacobsen, the 28 year-old defender has signed a one-year deal and will wear the number 15 shirt which was vacated by the now-retired Alan Stubbs if memory serves me correctly.

The usual player interview can be found on the official site, but if you can't be bothered ploughing through that here's the best quote of the interview and, possibly, the summer.

When asked about Everton's 2-0 win in Nuermberg, the club he was playing for at the time, Lars came out with this little gem: "I couldn't play but was there in the stadium and Everton were way better than Nuremberg."

So there!

There he goes...Lars Jacobsen is a graduate of the Peter Degn school of tackling.
