Everton Ladies Football Club

Anyway, not a great deal has happened in the world of the city's finest female footballing team with no games being played during the whole of January.

They've subsequently played one match this month and it ended with the Blues putting seven past Nottingham Forest Ladies without reply.

This was Forest's heaviest defeat of the season and once Jill Scott opened the scoring in the 25th minute it was all one-way traffic.

Fara Williams was playing the Arteta role and pulling the strings from midfield and Fern Whelan and Natasha Dowie add two more to see the Blues go in 3-0 up at half time.

Everton were 5-0 up by 65 minutes as Emily Westwood got on the scoresheet and Natasha Dowie got hre second of the game.

Forest then had Dani Duffy sent off for a second yellow card and the Blues finished the rout with goals from Michelle Evans and, possibly the most supermodel sounding footballer in the league, Isabelle Christensen.

This means that Everton ladies are still six points behind Arsenal with two games in hand but, despite the rout of Forest, they are still a massive 26 goals behind on goal difference!

At the end of the last article on the Ladies I mentioned that next up are seventh placed Bristol Academy...well it definitely is this as they've got the Pirates' wenches away on Sunday.

Which is the day after Valentine's day so hopefully they won't be too full of wine and chocolates when they take to the pitch...and if anyone can think of anymore patronising sexist stereotypes I left out there be sure to drop me an email!
