But half of the scheduled fixtures took place yesterday so the league table is going to be a bit skewed for a few weeks!
Arsenal and Chelsea Ladies also failed to make the big kick off, and they don't start the season until 20th September, so maybe the Women's FA are introudcuing some sort of system whereby the rest of the teams get a head start and last season's top three have to then play catch up.
The only other explanation I can think of is that it has something to do with European competition.
Whatever the reason, as far as Everton Ladies are concerned, there'll be no women's football until September 6th and Everton's first home game, back at Marine's gorund, won't be until September 27th when the Blue Belles play Nottingham Forest Ladies.
