Get the Russian lad on...

The rumours were actually true then and Everton have paid Lokomotiv Moscow £10 million for their Russian international winger Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-year-deal with the Blues but will not be eligible to play any part in the Europa League qualifier second leg in Olomouc as the UEFA registration dealine has passed...it was a nap we weren't going to sign anyone to meet that dealine though wasn't it?!

In some 1950's cold war spy drama type antics, Everton officials met the player in Hamburg to sort out the formalities, as Russians can enter Germany without a visa, but he must now wait for his visa to come through to allow him to come and ply his trade in England.

Which means we won't be seeing him at the Wigan game either!

For all sorts of facts and figures on him, which you've probably already read anyway, check out the official site.

In short though, he's a left winger but can play up front and at left back if need be, and there was a headline on NewsNow that said: "Moyes: Russian to fill several roles."...so he's a dab hand in the catering department too!

In other transfer news, we're about to bid for Distin/Huth/Taylor* (*delete as applicable) and there's still no word on Ever Banega, so he could well be this summer's Moutinho....sort of!

And, has Lescott actually signed for City yet?

There was something in the papers today that said gthe deal had hit an 11th hour (more like fucking 611th hour) snag as there was a hitch in negotiations between Lescott and Man City that left a frustrated Mark Hughes unable to announce that he had landed the defender...shame that!

Keep it Everton-mad for more news well after it happens...and you stay classy St Domingo....
