Hokey Cokey

Bill Kenwright has vowed to find some money from somewhere to equip David Moyes with what will, no doubt, be called a ‘war chest' by someone at the Echo as the January transfer window looms large.

Cue jibes amongst the more cynical of us about him getting his hand stuck down the back of the couch, cashing in the box office girls tontine or selling more of his Aunt Bettie's hot pots.

Moyes has stated that he would like to bring in some players during January as the squad has been decimated by injury in the last few weeks.

And Kenwright has stated: “David [Moyes] said at the AGM 'there was no cash in June but they found it for me' and we will find it for him again.”

One player that could be arriving in January to bolster the squad is everyone's favourite mystery Brazilian, Anderson da Silva.

The enigmatic midfielder seems to have had his passport problems sorted out and the club are talking to his agent about securing a move to the Blues in January.

I bet he can't wait to get away from Malaga either!

The Blues could also make a January ‘swoop' for Auxerre's Luigi Pieroni.

Everton were apparently in talks with him over the summer but the Belgian striker opted to stay and fight for his place at Auxerre.

In hindsight, this doesn't appear to have been such a great move as he has started just 11 games and Auxerre's two other summer signings are getting in ahead of him.

Apparently we can expect stiff competition for his signature from Nantes…and probably Middlesbrough and Portsmouth come Janauary.

Although they'll probably be in for James Beattie by that point too!
