Joleon, Joleon, Joleon, Jo-leeon...

The news this morning is that Everton have turned down a £15 million bid from Man City for Joleon Lescott.

So, inevitably, some cash-plus-player offers are being bandied about with Man City's Nedum Onuoha being the latest to be linked as part of the deal.

It was bad enough when it was Micah bloody Richards!

Nevertheless, the 22-year-old defender is highly regarded by Man City and has made 100 appearances for the Eastlands club since his debut in 2004.

But he's obviously not that highly regarded else they wouldn't be looking to get rid of him...they're not exactly offering us Shaun Wright-Phillips are they?!

Everton are still maintaining that they're not prepared to sell any of their best players, seemingly regardless of what carrots are dangled or by whom.

Robert Elstone, who shall forever be remembered for his 'fuck yeah we're up to our hats in debt' comment, has stated: "As a club, we have publicly stated - as recently as Wednesday night - that we do not intend selling any players.

He added: "David Moyes' primary focus is on building a squad so that we can continue to compete effectively in what is the most competitive league in world football."

But is anyone really convinced? thought not!

In other transfer related news, Kyle Naughton hasn't signed for Tottenham and Everton remain confident that they can land the 20-year-old full back.

And, you're going to love this one, some Swedish midfielder's name has been thrown into the Everton transfer hat.

To quote the Daily Post directly: "Meanwhile, the Blues have been linked with a move for Swedish midfielder Rasmus Elm. The 21-year-old Kalmar player has four caps."

So, even if he's shit, it's nice to know he has a half decent hat collection!
