...Manny's in and the Yak is on his way...

Fernandes completed the first part of his medical yesterday and is expected to complete the second half today.

Which sounds like the club are just keeping us hanging as medicals never seem to take this long!

But the main thing is that Fernandes look sure to sign, for a figure believed to be about £9 million, and Moyes admits that he'll add some much needed craft to the midfield.

The Everton manager said: "He [Fernandes]will give us a different option. We are playing with Lee Carsley and Phil Neville just now in the centre of midfield and he will give us more competition there."

He added: "But he is a different type of player, with a bit more craft. At 21 he was a big player in the European Under-21 Championships for Portugal and we are delighted to have him."

In other news, Yakubu has been left out of the Middlesbrough squad for the trip to Fulham tomorrow and is expected to be signing for the Blues over the weekend.

Moyes is not giving anything away regarding the Nigerian International striker but it is no secret that Everton want to sign him.

So it looks like 'dithering Dave' could be pulling a rabbit out of the hat once again.

And if anyone was in any doubt just how far we have come under the Scotsman's stewardship, then just look how we have become an attractive proposition to quality players like Fernandes and Yakubu.

And, if anyone can be arsed, Sky Sports have done this mad Opta comparison on their website.

convoluted? moi?
