Here we go, Everton have been linked with a Scandanvian striker.
The supposed target is Stromgodset striker Marcus Pedersen - who already sounds like he should be playing for Bolton!
The 19-year-old is being watched by 'a host of clubs' that includes, in addition to ourselves, West Brom, Sunderland, Blackburn, Bolton (oh yes!), Fulham, Heerenveen, FC Twente, Hamburg, Auxerre and Anderlecht.
Which is quite a host of clubs!
In reality, Blackburn have got to be the frontrunners if only for Fat Head Allardyce's predeliction for those solid, 'know-what-you're-getting', Scandanavian players.
And they really don't come much more Norwegian looking than this cat! If Abba were around today you can bet your life Benny and Bjorn would be working off this template!
But not since the heyday of Claus Thomsen, Peter Degn and Tobias Linderoth (who never actually all played together but they make a nice trio) have the Blues had such a player in their squad.
In fact the last time we did it was Per Kroldrup and that didn't work out too well!
And, one look around the Premier League suggests that Scandanavian stock has fallen as there don't appear to be as many around, and certainly not at the top clubs.
So there's no way we'll be signing him then!
