...our team could be goosed.

Gosling arrived from Plymouth Argyle in a fanfare matched only by that given to Kevin Keegan by the Geordie 'faithful' last night.

Speaking of which, is there another set of fans, bar Kopites, that wind you up as much as Gerodies?

And is there a more excruciating chairman than Mike Ashley.

Not only does the fat whopper sit in the stands, clad in a replica shirt, with all the other fat whoppers and buy them all drinks whilst out on the 'toon'...he then employs a man that is clearly not the best candidate for the job as he knows the fans will be wetting themselves at the prospect of 'wor Kev', or whatever they call him, being back in charge.

Has there ever been a more toe-curling display of someone trying to ingratiate themselves with the fans?

Anyway, back to Everton and Gosling, the 17-year-old right back has signed for the Blues and has been given the number 32 shirt...and that's just about all the information that the club have given us.

Oh yeah, and the club have also quoted that Gosling thinks life at Everton is "brillant".

But the doors at Goodison are revolving and as one comes in, it appears that two could be out.

Birmingham have allegedly upped their offer for James McFadden to £5.5 million and the Scottish international is expected at St Andrew's later today (Thursday) to discuss personal terms.

Despite prolonged interest from both Old Firm clubs, Birmingham are the first to meet Everton's asking price for McFadden and Alex McLeish seems to have been intent on signing the enigmatic Scot since his arrival at Birmingham.

McLeish said of McFadden: "McFadden is one of these - it's a Glasgow word we use - 'gallas', a person who is unfazed by challenges put in front of him, who fancies his chances, has the bottle and mentality."

He added: "And the thing about James McFadden is that he definitely has the technique as well. But I'm talking about a player I don't even have here and I hope we can really pull out the stops to get him."

And there was me thinking that a 'Gallas' was a moody Frenchman that spits his dummy when he's not getting his own way!

Thomas Gravesen is another player that could be could be on his way out too as Galatasaray look ready to make an offer to take the Danish midfielder to Turkey on a permanent contract.

Gravesen's not really made any sort of an impact since his return, apart from his brief macth-winning cameo at Bolton, so I don't think too many people would be sorry to see him go.

In other 'revolving door' related issues, it appears that Steve Sidwell is stalling over a loan move to Sunderland as Everton have shown an interest in him.

If he does sign for us I hope that Lee Carsley gets a grip of him at the first training session and threatens to give the snide ginger get a blanket party is he ever goes anywhere near him again!
