You're Sylvain...

Though a mention does have to go to our new centre half as much has been made of Moyes splashing out £5 million on a 31-year-old.

This is a rare move by our manager but I'd say a sound one as the last thing we needed was a rookie centre half coming in and being taught the ropes by Joesph Yobo.

As good as Yobo is he's always prone to dropping a bollock and definitely benefits from having an assured partner in defence, which Distin will provide.

Anyway, It looks like the Lescott-funded spending spree is going to continue as this morning's papers reckon we've landed Atletico Madrid's Johnny Heitinga.

The full-back is thought to be joining the Blues for a fee of £5.7 million which seems like a great price for a 25-year-old Dutch international with Champions League experience.

And it kind of puts paying £17 million for Glenn Johnson into some perspective!

A quick look at Wikipedia tells us that Heitinga comes from good stock as he broke into the Ajax team along with fellow Dutch internationals Rafael van der Vaart and Wesley Sneider.

The downside is that he's had a couple of bad injuries, in particular a knee injury that sidelined him for 6 months.

However, he's had a clean bill of health since 2004/05 season and moved to Atletico Madrid at the end of the 2007/08 season for around €10 million.

No idea why the Spaniards want to seel him though, they're probably skint!

And exactly where do Wikipedia get their profile pictures from?

Heitinga's picture (below) is almost as bad as Yobo's 'Wha choo talkin' bout Willis?' photo they use on the site.
