McFadden's fighting fit

The player that no-one calls ‘Jinky Jimmy' played 65 minutes of Everton reserves' 1-1 draw with Sheffield United reserves at the Halton Stadium last night.

He's now raring to go as he has traveled up to Scotland to join the national squad as they prepare for their clash with France at Hampden on Saturday.

And then he's got sights set on
re-re-re-establishing himself in the Everton team.

McFadden said: "Hopefully I'm through everything now and I'm looking forward to Saturday's game against France but when I get back to Everton, I obviously want to get back into the team."

And, on the subject of the Blues, he added: "I'm raring to go now and I'd love to be involved in the next game. Everyone is doing well. The players on the pitch and the players on the fringes are trying to force their way into the team. It's a great place to be at the minute."

So expect him to figure against France on Saturday, play a blinder and then suffer a recurrence of his hamstring strain against Ukraine on Wednesday!
