Time to play Rooney

David Moyes has, so far, stuck to his policy of not using Rooney as much as perhaps he could. This has always been justified by the argument that too much too young could harm him. Well, here we are, not long before his 18th birthday, and we have to re-evaluate the situation.

I'm no physiotherapist, which could of course invalidate my entire argument here, but it seems to me that Rooney is, physically, years a head of most 18 years olds. Does this not mean that he could pehaps, be played a little more than he is?

The reason this question is raised is the 0-0 game at the weekend against southampton. We clearly lacked spark, and whilst James McFadden seems to be a great player, he cannot control a game from the wing, and is limited by the amount of time he gets on the ball. Rooney's main asset is his ability to find the ball for himself and fo something with it, and ability no other Everton player has.

So what i'm saying is this. Whilst Wayne is, i'm sure, not ready for week in week out action, i'd like to see him play more. He's the ebst we've got, and if we are to make Europe this season (which MUST be the objective) we need everyone firing on all cylinders.
